“Anonymous” should mean anonymous

Many tools announce anonymous responses while keeping each respondent's IP address, exact time or browser, or tracking the click that led to the questionnaire. With Mailpro anonymous responses, nothing leads back to the person: not the response, not our logs, not your email statistics.

What is stored

The responses, and nothing else

You see the responses, their number and their date. The IP address, city, country, browser, referring page and time are never stored; in the details of a response, they show “-”. No contact record is created, and an email address a link could prefill is ignored.

The path of a response

A dedicated address, with no intermediary

An anonymous survey is filled in on anonymous.forms.mailpro.com. This address leads straight to our servers in Switzerland, with no intermediary service (no content delivery network, no proxy). The web server keeps no access log, and our technical logs record neither the IP address, nor the browser, nor the requested address there.

Your emails

No click tracking, even in the newsletter

In your campaigns, links to an anonymous survey are never turned into tracking links: no click is recorded, neither for the survey link nor for the buttons of an anonymous vote. You know who you sent it to, never who answered. The same applies to emails sent through the Mailpro SMTP server.

On the page

No third-party service that would see the respondent

No captcha: Google or Cloudflare would see the IP address. Your own audience measurement script is not loaded either. Bot protection runs on our servers, without storing anything.

Your next questionnaire can be truly anonymous.

HOW IT WORKS

An anonymous survey in three steps

1

Create the survey

In Create › Survey (or Form, for a suggestion box for example), write your questions without asking for a name or email.

2

Tick Anonymous responses

In the Access section. For a single one-click question, create a quick poll and tick Anonymous vote.

3

Share it

By email, in your newsletter, through a link or a QR code. Responses come in, with nothing that identifies anyone.

WHO IS IT FOR?

When anonymity makes the difference

Team climate

Workload, management, atmosphere: honest answers. See our employee satisfaction surveys.

Training evaluation

Participants rate the trainer without fear. See training evaluation.

Associations

Consult your members on a project or a budget with an anonymous vote.

Suggestion box

An anonymous form to collect suggestions and criticism, without anyone feeling exposed.

FULL TRANSPARENCY

The limits of anonymity

  • The questions themselves. If a question asks for a name or an email address, the response is obviously no longer anonymous.
  • Small groups. With very few respondents, the result can hint at who answered what (three people, three “no” answers).
  • One vote per browser. Tying a vote to its recipient would mean knowing who they are: an anonymous vote is therefore limited to one vote per browser.
  • Newsletter opens. They are still measured, as for any email; they say nothing about the response.
  • Embedding in your website. Your website sees its visitors: for complete anonymity, share the survey link.
  • Responses already received. The setting applies to new responses; those received before it was turned on keep their data.
QUESTIONS

Frequently asked questions

Can you find out who answered what?
No. The response contains neither name, nor IP address, nor city, nor browser, nor time, and no contact record is created. In the details of a response, this information shows “-”.
And Mailpro, can it find out?
No. The survey goes through a dedicated address, anonymous.forms.mailpro.com, with no intermediary and no access log, and our technical logs record neither the IP address, nor the browser, nor the requested address. Clicks to this address are not tracked in emails.
How do I turn on anonymous responses?
In the editor of a survey or a form, Access section, tick Anonymous responses. For a quick poll, tick Anonymous vote in the Quick poll section. The setting applies to new responses; those received before keep their data.
Can I send the survey to my contact list?
Yes, by email or in your newsletter. The link is not turned into a tracking link: you know who you sent it to, never who answered or what.
Why is there no captcha?
Google or Cloudflare would see the respondent's IP address. Bot protection runs on our servers, without storing anything.
Where are the responses stored?
On Mailpro servers in Switzerland, with no data that could identify the respondent.
